And God bless the trees, and the leaves, and the dirt......

Prayer is a big part of Aaron's day at school. They take a moment to pray at circle time and they say a short prayer before snack time.

Aaron has really taken an interest in this and he often wants to say a prayer before mealtimes at home and at bedtime too.

However, prayers sometimes can go on for 10 minutes at mealtimes. He'll go through ALL of his prayers and it's often quite amusing. He always follows prayers up with, "In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Now let's pitch in". And I have to tell you that watching him cross himself is very comical! There is often a hand touching his forehead, his nose, and maybe a tug or two at his ears. We have a hard time not laughing!

At bedtime he'll say "Now I lay me down to sleep" and his "God our Father, God our Father,
We thank You (followed often by pointing to Keith or I),
We thank You,
for Your many blessings,
for Your many blessings,
Amen...Amen" (To the tune of "Frere Jacques").

And then he'll go through a very interesting list of things that he's thankful for. Tonight we heard the following prayer:

"God, we thank you for this wonderful day. God bless the trees, the beautiful leaves, the sun, the moon, the sea, the fish and the people who made dirt. Amen".
